I purchased a new Big M 9.8 4.500 block as well as 345 Pro1 heads for a 540 build. What head gaskets are you favoring in this combo? In addition I purchased a solid roller cam. Now Dart specs that roller lifters need to be Gen VI type as to be .300 taller, and solid lifters need to be Mark V type. Stupid question but what about solid roller lifters? As well as a ARP Head Stud part number that you have used in this combo? ARP has so many part numbers with different fine print.

Thank You

the head gasket should be a 1017 fel pro, you can get a 1057 but that is for a 4.60 bore verses 4.54 bore. You only need a +.300 roller lifter. The lifter is not any taller from the pushrod set, it has the vertical bar moved up to it will clear the extra support made in the block. the head bolts are 135-3603. The head stud kit ends with a 3 also. I am not sure of the exact head stud kit # right now. You have no problems worth worring about. The solid lifter deal would be the same as the older gen 4

Thank You, any solid roller lifter sets you recommend? Cam is the Crower 290R grind, intake is .649 and .677 on the exhaust. Think Ill get the inner 4 stud kit from Dart and the rest of the studs from ARP since I cant find a complete set.

Crower, Morel-Lunati, PBM, etc. Comp Cams is always good. Most name brand lifters are fine. Morel makes a very nice unit and we have never lost a wheel while in use.
