Hello just joined and am lookign to build a Dart block based stroker for my Ford. I have my car running now and am starting to weigh my options before I become a member of the 2 piece stock block Ford club. I have a 347 now that is 28oz and running in the high 9's. I am looking for a block that will hold 1000whp with out craking a sweet and reviving it 8000+. Is the SHP,Sportsman, or Iron eagle the that I should do?

Welcome!
For the application you are describing here I would probably go with an iron eagle block.
The SHPs are very solid, but 1000hp is pushing their capabilities.

would a sportsman hold the power?

Yeah, a Sportsman block would do just fine with that power.

thank you for the help I have already started to look into what CI I want to do. I was hoping to do a 4.155 bore and a 3.40 stroke with 9:1 pistons then hit it hard with some boost:D

your always going to want to go faster, never slower, use the Iron Eagle, this way your covered. And, its not that much more. The SHP and Sportsmans are rated @ my shop at 800 and 1200hp. The Eagle is well over 1500. Hthelps
