Can anyone tell me how Dart determines the exhaust port profile on new Cylinder head designs?
I just completed the build of my 434 Stroker motor. My engine builder was able to snag me a set of Dart Pro1 200 Heads with angled plugs. All this high end stuff is new to me so I told him to build around them.
Problem came up when it was time to order new headers for the Pro1's.
Turns out that only one company accomidates the angled plugs, Doug's Headers. And of coarse there are not the cheapest headers out there.
So that is why I was wondering how or if the exhaust port design is purely a Flow solution or if common headers are considered.
Mmmmm Kaaa?:D

I have got Hooker Super Comps, and they fit the angle plug very well, had a guy comment about it the other day, no dings in the headers :D Was lucky to help a guy this winter that had a set of Lemons headers done up for this 502 68 Camaro. I have to say they are probably some of the finest fitting headers I have ever seen. By the way they were 2 1/8x4 in a Gen 1 Camaro.

Might want to check out Schoenfeld. Good price, great fit and I like the performance.
I found a set of stepped big tube headers for my small block Chevelle for under $400.
Don't think much of the coating that came on them but I wanted to paint them silver instead of black anyway

angle plugs are pretty much usless and just used for the old timey stuff where it was cooled to say my plugs are ANGLE PLUG. Offers nothing! Does play hell with some header company that forgot to build that into the header. Dan over @ Lemons has a good pair also but you will pay. I never build any street crate engines with any plug other than stock!

If you think they are high you need to price KOOKS, Lemons, Stahl or other top end headers starting at $900+
Some applications have seen performance gains from angle plugs but almost nothing so it is really hard to measure if it does help and they are a PITA most of the time

I would not give you the time of day for DynoHeck headers. We purchased a set of their large tube headers for a BBC 598 in a 68 Camaro we done and the 1 tube run right into the starter. Not a little but a ton. I called them up and they said, "send them back, we will put them on our template engine and check them out. We did and they called back and said they fit fine. I asked them did you have a starter on it? He said we don't do that? I told him I have to start the engine. He said they fit and sent them back cod. I called him and told him I would make sure every one knows just what kinda junk headers these were. Coated best of the best.
Took the head tube out, put a new tube in and had them recoated. Cost the customer 400.00 on top of new price. What a hack job they were.
Scholfield is killer and so are most reputable companies. I love Dan Lemons headers for the BBC Nova and Camaro. NONE BETTER and you can tell DAN I said so.

Yeah they probably fixed it after our set, still the company's ability to repair a very bad problem turned ugly and was bad. No more for me, Dan Lemons, Hooker or Someone anyone else. FabTech is the bomb for dragsters!
