Many different companies in our industry offer windage trays. Have you looked into any offerings your pan company has to offer?

I'm not aware of any company offering a main cap stud that will accept a windage tray on our block so I would look at pans with a built in tray.

I would really take a look at a pan installed unit; this way you can get as much surface area as possible. The limiting factor on all engines with a wet sump set up is the problem created by not having a full length windage tray.

There is a huge debate as to whether the baffled solid trays are better than a screen type. I prefer and see more of the solid trays on the very high end stuff but those trays are typically well designed to move the oil where it needs to be. As an engine builder I would run a solid tray that was designed with your specific pan in mind; installed in the pan to the proper depth. Just my .02, Hope this helps!

Why couldn't you use a 2-bolt stud kit and use the 2-bolts to hold the windage tray instead of all 4? I plan on adding both this winter a Dart Block and a Windage tray...

The kit that fits the caps is the small journal stuff, but it isn't going to swing a 3.750 or larger crank. I tried the windage studs out of my 010 block in my SHP block and they didn't clamp the cap.......I guess you could stack washers, but I didn't think that was too great of an idea. So I used the small journal studs and bought a pan with a tray in it.........oh yeah, I hate the pan :D.

As FastAlum434 stated which is a very good post a tray in the pan with as much surface area as possible will net a better result if it's designed well. I have always seen this as a much better option if you want to do it right.

I am still not getting it. There are 3-bolts that hold the tray in place. What is meant by small journal stuff? You can buy main studs kits for 2-4 bolt caps 350-400 whatever you like. I talked with Moroso today and he told me there is no reason that he could see that it wouldn't work.. Please provide more info if possible... Thanks

Most windage trays are a trap and actually prevent the oil from getting away from the crank. Moroso has the best pan attached oil scavaging system going right now. Take a look @ their Pro Eliminator pan, it actually makes 1-5 hp on every engine we use and controls oil pressure way better on hard launches as well as when you pull the shoot!
