I would like some help. I decided to rebulid my 95 350 to a 383. I want to run DART heads, but sure which ones have an egr port as it needs to pass AZ emissions. My throttle body has been bored out by rvmorse. I'm going to run hydraulic flat tappets with comp cam 212/218 duration along with .449/.456 lift @.050 with 1.5 rockers. I'm planning to use 1.6 self align rockers which should give me about a .480 lift. The 4x truck has an eldebrock performer intake, ceramic headers, offroad msd box with blaster coil & 8.5 mm wires. Fuel pressure is at 13.5 psi. I'm looking for alot of bottom end torque. Its an auto transmission with 4:88 differential gears. Sorry for all the info. Thanks ahead of time. Any help would be appreciated. going to use a scat forged rolling assembly with 10 to 1 compression:confused:

Hey, anybody out there? So I called Dart & spoke with a Tech..., I told him I was looking for heads for my 95 k1500 which I was building a 383. I also told him they that needed to be smog legal, ie with egr ports. He proceeded to tell me that Dart did not make any heads with egr ports, so I hung up.:mad:

Dart doesn't make any heads with EGR ports. I'm not sure what else you want to know...

are you talking about the center exhaust port or actual ege holes gm had in their earlier heads. The center crossover can be used for egr passages with any head with that option. The sr head I believe has the heat riser for that. I think it does, I havent paid much attention to that in about 10 years.

You asked if Dart made heads with egr ports. We do not. Our S/S heads have a center crossover that could be used for this with the right manifold.
However, you would probably see a reduction in performance on that setup.

It should be clarified that Chevy heads DO NOT have egr ports, in a chevy setup these are in the manifold.

It would not make a lot of sense for us to mislead you into not buying our products, don't you think?

Why would any one want to use the egr crap any ways. Do what chevy did and pump fresh air into the exhaust to pass the emissions junk...lol

Your are correct, the intake manifold he is using, uses the crossover to induce exhaust gases to control burn time on the newer engines. They say it helps with emission, pinging etc. etc. The newer electronic controlled egr valves are very sensitve and his engine controls need this. If he does not use it, a check engine light will stay on. So the S/R head with that port could be used if his engines intake manifold will fit. I do not think the 95 intake is the same, those are either 4 bolt vortec or the late gm style. Some cylinder head companys have incorporated both patterns for the intake and both patterns for the valve covers. It has been 10 years since I flat rated antyhing in our shop. I still over see the work but don't do it. New stuff just keeps coming.
