I am setting up a 9.2 IE with a dry sump and Cleveland/Yates style heads and planning to use the rear 1/2" NPT oil port as the main oil feed. Where should I take pressure from to feed valvespring oilers and wristpin oilers (external -- on pan)? Could I use the pressure from the 1/8" NPT port at the rear of the block, or should I take it from the -10AN main oil feed from the front, driver's side port and use an adapter? I figure my oilers will be a maximum of -6 AN line, or most probably a -4 line.
Thanks!

The 1/8 pressure port next to the rear feed is basicly drilled right in to the main feed so they are pretty much the same.
That being said you could plumb from the 1/8" with no problems.
I also think the -4 feed lines would be fine for plumbing and a little cleaner than -6.

Thanks for your input, Kevin. I may end up taking a feed line from the front -10AN line and reducing it to a -4. I just want to make sure that I have pressure to the mains while the motor is running even if I somehow lose a valvespring oiler line. If I plumb it into the rear 1/8" NPT, the possibility of losing pressure to the mains would be high. If pressure from the pump goes through the 1/2" NPT first and then through the main oil galleys, and then to the valvespring oilers, I may still have a chance to shut the motor down if I lose pressure to an external oil line. Whadya think?
What do the turbo / blower guys use as a pressurized oil port to feed the bearings of a turbo or blower?

You can feed it off of the front provision also.... If you look at the instructions it says you can use it.
I tend to think feeding the oilers from the opposite of your main feed will be fine. Considering the small size of your oilers I do not think you will run into a problem stealing oil from the mains. Also consider the oiling system in the Iron Eagle block is much more efficient than the factory system which requires less oil pressure than normal.
Most turbo guys feed from the oil pressure port or from the front provision.
From our instructions.
"The oil feed hole at the left front corner is a -10AN thread, NOT a tapered pipe thread. If you are not using this hole use an O-ring Boss Plug. The following are part numbers for this -10AN plug:
Aeroquip # FCM-3726 Earls # 981410ERL
Russell # 660290
You can drill this plug for your oil pressure tap if desired, or use a -10AN male to -4AN male union reducer, Aeroquip # FCM2188 or equivalent."

Awesome, thanks Kevin. That clears things up immensely!

we always feed from the pump to the front and take what is left from the back. This guarantees oil pressure to the front bearings first and has always worked for us.
