I have a 408 iron block in my Z06. It was setup for nitrous. however, I am still running the stock LS6 heads with some upgraded springs. Wanting to upgrade the heads and looking at the 225cc heads. i see they have smaller combustion chambers 62cc, compared to stock Z06 ls6 65cc IRC. Current compression is about 11.25:1. what would I end up with running these new heads? Pistons are Wiseco 4.030 8cc reverse dome, and cam is 228/232 .578/587. Is there any conflicts running these as bolt ons with GM MLS gaskets? Also, I am putting a Vic Jr single plane with direct port nitrous on top, would port matching be gains worth the cost? or would I be better off flow matching the entire setup? Cost is really a concern here, and a 5 dollar jet is hard to beat for hp per dollar, though I do want respectable n/a power. A dealer near me would be good also, as currently i am looking in the Summit catalog. Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Compression will jump but it wont be much, we need to know more specs to determine what the compression ratio would be. You can also put your information in on the compression calculator on www.kb-silvolite.com (http://www.kb-silvolite.com)

You can run them using the MLS gaskets, make sure you get a set that fits outside of the chamfer of the sleeve if using an aluminum block.

You typically want the manifold to be about ten percent smaller than the intake port, if that is about where you are after test fitting i would not do any more work.

or would I be better off flow matching the entire setup?
It may be a good idea to chassis dyno to tune it accordingly when done.

we can help you with a dealer just need to know the location to determine who is in the area.

as currently i am looking in the Summit catalog. Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Your gonna add amost ¾ of a ratio, nothing to worry about with a small amount of NOS. The MLS will work perfect. Just keep good fuel in and remember to pull a little timing out if your gonna use a lot of NOS. Pump gas would be a NO NO.

Thanks, so that means I would end up with about 12.0:1 which isn't to bad. Yea, thanks for the heads up on the n2o; however, I am a nitrous mod over at ls1tech so have a good grasp of the nitrous world. Before the 408 I ran my stock longblock LS6 all the way to a 285rwhp in a duel stage set-up.
These heads are really a good deal, and hopefully I can score a pair reaL soon though money is very tight, and have them ported later when some $$ comes around, lol. By the way, I have a tuning site I am putting together, selling nothing, just for info, check it out robertsnitrousservice.com
