I currently have a sbc 383, with a set of Dart Pro 1 heads(200/64cc). I just ran the heads like they were right out of the box. My current cam specs are .474/.498 and the duration is 214/220. I want to do a cam swap, for a cam in the area of .498/.519, or .519/.540. What will need to be done to my heads to accommodate a larger cam with more than .500 lift? Thanks Brian...

you shouldn't have to do anything with the heads. Sounds like the only thing to be sure of is spring set up.

nothing to the heads, make sure you have long slot rockers and recheck the geometry when changing out camshafts.

Hello,
Their will be a bare part number stamped on the end pad of the head. If you can get that number for me I can shoot you the description. The only problem is that number won’t tell me what spring diameter was installed. If you can get a dial caliper and measure the O.D of the spring I can put the whole part number together for you.
Thanks,
M
