What bore and stroke are possible with Dart's new 4.500" bore center billet aluminum small-block.

What deck heights are available? What bore sizes are available?

Does Dart produce a cylinder head to fit the 4.500" bore center billet aluminum small-block. I am interested in symmetrical port with splayed valves.

How long is the wait time for ordering this new block?

Being a billet block and starting with a large rectangular piece of aluminum, it is pretty much up to the engine designer to determine what he/she needs to build the engine of their choice.

Deck height, cam position, water passages, lifter bore dimensions, are all things that will need to be specified when placing the order, they are totally custom to meet your needs.

Unlike shelf stocked castings that limit the extra options, these are built to order.

As for heads, right now GM has the R03, and the R07 heads beign used in NASCAR racing. I hear that Allen Johnson at AJPE is working on something, and later CFE might be also. We are not going into that market at this time.

Lead time right now with the current rate of billet block orders, is about 12-14 weeks.

Thanks

Thank you for the information. At this time the extra expense and complications are too extreme. I will stay with off the self products.

As Pro 1 said, anything is possible but to be a little more specfic with on the shelf parts, we keep right now 4½ SBC cranks that will go right into a Dart Iron Eagle 9.325 or Preferred 9½" deck height blocks. We have one on the dyno as I type with a set of Jenkins Pro Stock heads modified correctlly for a 499" SBC, We are working with a 4¾" crank now for a 523" its not impossible. Witht the 499" now going on 3 years old and one of the fastests small block out there, and will be faster, were always pushing the standard for different and better combinations. There are some aftermarket companies what produce a block with a deck height taller than 9½", we have not got into that yet. We would need about .525 raised cam and are working on it. As far as 500" SBC with off the shelf parts now making well over 1100 hp and over 800 on pump gas, what more could you ask for. The billet blocks are endless with bore centers. We could easily make a 600" with not 1 problem. Thats all been figured out. The heads on the other hand would be. If you series about a 4½ or 4¾ bore center billet small block, let know and the crank, rods, pistons, cam, is already available. Head we can work with. It would be custom and take about 6-12 months for a build of something from 550" to 600". Sound good, give me a call. 302-436-4200. Today we will see how good the old GM Pro Stock heads are compared to CFE SBX head. 2 same engines, one with Jenkings old Tech and 1 with Carls New SBX stuff with a new sheet metal. I will post results some time soon if your interested. Big light SBC are what hots. For that matter even the Large SBF are cool. We also do the 500" for that.
