W stands for World Products
NH is New Haven foundry which is out of business
I-037 designates they are World Sportsman heads, and are 200cc runners.

How old are those heads? I had as set of the same casting, that I bought used about 6 years ago with the I-037 casting. I wasn't very impressed. Are those from before the split? Arent the old Sportsman's of Dart design. Just curious.
Thanks

The set that I had were 2.02/1.6 with 200cc runners. I once had a Dart tech tell me that they did design the first World Sportsman Head. Not sure why but mine seemed to run out of steam around 6000rpm. I did have a smaller valve though. I did a baseline a couple weeks ago, and will be going tomorrow to see if the Pro 1 Plats are any better. Im hopin to see an improvement.
Forgot to mention that mine were 64cc and I am pretty sure that it says on the World website that there is no way to tell the spring combo or the chamber size from the casting number. You have to call them 631-981-1918.

If you don't really know anything about these heads, calling them will only give you what they know they were new. They could be anything now. 200 cc's is a killer size head and when properly ported, they are as good as anything out there. Most of those heads were 64cc combustion chamber with a 2.02-2.05 valve. None had 2.08. These were some of the best heads at the time because all we had was the 195cc Bowtie to work with. They were also very good. Dart and Merlin some time back were connected but that was long separated mutually. So what ever was done back then has only steered both companies to produce their own set up. It depends on what you want to do with these heads, but they will work very nicely on a 400-434 engine with the heads being ported properly for larger stroke engine. I would also put a 2.08 valve with the new valve jobs and valve angles. You would be amazed at what power the will make.

I assume that enough time has gone by that you have the new heads now?
I'm gonna also bet that the Pro 1 platinums made the old sportsman heads look silly.

I dont' want to speak for malihoochie, but in my experience on the dyno with my combo the Pro 1 heads made the Sportsman II heads look silly................big..........big torque and hp to boot :D........................sorry didnt mean to hijack the thread
