View Full Version : Dart Pro 1 Valve Spring Pressure
Just purchased a set of Pro1 215 aluminum heads for my chevy 406 and was wondering if the spring pressure on the 1.437 dia.spring is too much for my Comp Cams 292 Magnum hydraulic cam.The springs Comp recommended for the cam are similar to the Dart springs that came with the heads. Any help would be appreciated. Also any pointers on drilling the steam holes besides the literature that came in the box? Thanks

you will need no more than 125 lbs of seat and 275-285 open with the flat tappet hyd. Roller hyd would be what I would go with right now and forget the lost lobe deal. With the hyd roller we use 150 seat and 400 open with what cam we use. Take the heads to the machine shop with a head fixture guide and seat machine and have them drilled correctly. They are on an angle that you can very easily mess up with a hand held drill. hthelps.
