Hi there, I have ford 408 stoker with a set of Pro 1 heads. My alternator pivot point is falling right in between the two exiting outer most point of the passenger side head.
Is it safe to drill there and add the mounting point I need? The exiting upper hole is 1" deep the bottom one is .7". How deep can I safely drill?
Thanks,
Jim

The end of that head is about half an inch thick. You could drill and tap where you say you need this other hole or you could use a different bracket with a more common pattern to it. The worst that can happen if you drill and tap the head is that you'd break through to water - in which case you just seal the threads on the bolt and remember to drain the radiator before pulling that bolt. Best of luck.

That would be it. You need to go no further, and use a bottoming tap to get the threads clean all the way down.
