IN this application, you can't get enough head. You forcing it in. You will love them and they will really make very nice power everywhere. The exhaust port needs the attention. Clean it up very well as with the combustion chamber and your engine will run like it can breath.
So many people tend to think compression means power. In most cases it is related. AIR, or oxygen is what makes power. I don't care how good your heads are, without oxygen, it won't run.
Bolt a bottle, blower, supercharger or turbo on and what are you doing. Giving it more air. Fuel has never been a problem and we can get as much of that in as we want. The engines ability to get air on its own is what PRO STOCK people do best but they also have the best technology of moving parts and the other stuff to allow it to run in the world.
So with that said, your heads will be killer. We use the largest head we can get along with the largest intake valve with any blown application. And we only start with 7-1 or 8-1 compression with gas and 10-1 to 12-1 with alky. It will make enough compression with the air and fuel being foreced in to make up anything lost and then some more!

I totally agree with Bill on this. Look at the Fuel guys since they broke the 300 MPH mark. Before then they didn't really pay much attention to head flow efficiency at all cause they felt like they were forcing it in any ways. When they started running the big mph numbers they had to RPM the engines more and they had to get their heads flowing better. They started talking to the ProStock guys about their head technologies that got their Fuel engines to creep up the RPMs. In the Pro classes RPM= MPH.
Here is an intresting story also. Remember when Bernstein had the MPH record at something like 311 mph. Then went out and ran that 320mph record? That was a huge jump!!! Actually a parts failure produced that run for him. He ran through his clutch so hard in his last lock up stage and welded the clutch so it wasn't slipping anymore near the speed traps. Car flew. That Monday his crew chief was calling my mentor engine builder and was asking him to design them a clutch that could lock up 1-1 when they wanted it to. I was there during the phone conversation. I thought that was pretty cool.
But look at the Fuel guys before and after trap RPMs. Before the 300 mile an hour speed limit era I think it was 8500ish and now maybe 9500ish. Head flow technologies among other things got them there.
Thanks, Don
