Hello,
Do you know what compression ratio you are going to run? Also what RPM range will you be running the engine at?

You can get anything to work if you want to spin it hard enough with gear and converter. The question is driveability. Is this a real street car or just has that name. If you run this every day or at least a lot on the street, flat tappet camshafts suck for higher rpm engines. They usually will fail around 6000/6500 max. Solid roller is your way to go. So if your ready to up to that, then maybe we can get those larger heads to run on your 383.

From what I see, the 200cc intake volume would be the best for your combonation. We have done a few Dyno tested 383's here and had great results with the 200cc Pro-1's and Iron Eagles.
Heres what we had:
383 Ci
200cc Pro-1's
10.7:1 compression Ratio
234 / 243 durration @ .050 (solid Roller) .551 lift Int. / Exh. 114° center
Dart manifold # 42411000
800 deamon Carb
510 hp @ 6,100 Rpm and 470 ft lbs @ 5,200 Rpm
__________________________________________________ ___________
383 Ci
200 Pro-1's
9.5:1 Compression Ratio
224 / 230 @ .050 (Hyd. Roller ) .510 lift Int. / Exh. 110° center
Dart Kool Can ( Dule Plane )
650 Demon Carb
460 hp @ 5,800 Rpm and 470 ft lbs @ 5,000 Rpm
Both Vehicles where driven daily to work and around town.

What gear and stall was used or do you recommend ? I have flat top -5cc pistons and its going in a 56 chevy ht . What cam did you use on each engine , brand & part # ? were the heads 64 or 72cc ?what would change if you were to swap to a215 head on thease motors , everything else the same ??
