i have a 78 camaro with a 13.5 compression 434,weighs 3400 lbs,has box stock pro1 215 heads,950hp carb,howards solid roller cam 645-645lift 269-275@.050 108ls,.025 lash,holley strip dominator intake,hooker super comp headers,1.7/8,3inch exaust with turn downs super44s,36 degrees total timing,all msd,all roller,10 inch race converter,tci,tci th350,no brake,3800flash,stall,12 bolt,4.10,gears,28.10.5,et drags. the car has been 6.93@99mph in the 8th and 11.02@122 in the quater,with a 1.49,60 foot,and 6700 rpm at the end of the quarter. should it be quicker? how can i make it quicker with this combo? i keep reading about these engines running mid to low 10s,i want mine to run like that!!!

Your camshaft is wrong for these heads and this size engine. I would put 276/280 on th intake and 288/294 on the exhaust with a 112 with as much lift as I could stick in there. Your heads are way to small for a 4" crank.
Also your torque converter is junk. If your #'s are correct, 122mph with 6700rpm and 28" tall tire, you have over 15% converter slippage and I don't have to even check.
our only making 440rwhp with your et and with mph, 490 hp. Your only going to make 600hp at best because of head and cam, so with this said, now you can go buy another wrong converter and maybe pick another wrong cam. Those things are pretty pricey the last time I checked.
The carb, intkae, headers, and the reast of the stuff is pretty good.
What fuel are you running and how did you come to what compression you have. Flat top, 50 cc head 64 cc head, 10cc dome ? Just wondering, maybe could find something there for you. She is down for sure. What intake valve is in this also.

im running 110 ,it has a small dome engine builder claims its 13.5,1 with 64cc heads,it has 2.05 intake valves.do you recomend a converter and cam?
