Is this true?????

To Whom It May Concern:

Working with all of you has been the experience of a lifetime. I will value your support as friends, customers, vendors, and media contacts forever. The economic situation has put the company in the position of not being able to find working capital needed to continue operations and get a chapter 11-reorganization plan through the court. In addition to this , is that all of our equipment has been breaking down causing production delays and further hurting cash flow. Reluctantly now we must convert to chapter 7 liquidation after 26 years of business. The financial collapse has closed , or has caused severe restructuring of many companies in our industry. Many individuals have lost everything . We have even lost our home. This is the most humbling experience of my life, and I have no future plans at this point. Thank You for Your Many Years of Support .

As of today February 18th, 2011 twelve noon we have closed all operations at our main plant and all subsidiary location.

Sincerely,

Barry Grant

Thank You,

Yeah, I can confirm this.
It's pretty unfortunate...

Yes, pretty unfortunate indeed. It was a rough year getting any products from BG. Quality over the last 5 years got worse and worse. I'm sure at some point they might be back.

Sorry to see him go,...But I'd have to say that I never took a Demon carb apart that didn't have chips it the metering block from the machining process. That's all I'll say about the subject.

Well,...that, and I will have to say that those who voted for ovomit are getting what they deserve. Problem is they are dragging the rest into the socialistic abyss with them. Come on 2012!!!!!!

I didnt want to bring politics into this site. Those discussions get ugly fast. I have other sites I follow to amuse myself with politics. The Bullet is a good one for that. Im not saying i support Obama though.
I will say though that not one of the BG carbs i have had any shavings in them when i cleaned them out. I guess i got lucky.
I might go LSX though with my third gen camaro. So i wont need a carb. It just sucks that the only parts i will be able to get for these long term will be inflated in price off of ebay. Although, alot of Holley parts work on BG carbs.

I've had six or seven of these carbs apart and had this problem in every one of them. I had to stop recommending them. No question that it's a good concept,...just needed more attention to detail in the manufacturing / assembly process imo.

Wifeys Holley had a bunch of crap in the blocks.........I have a pic on my phone. I wish that I could show you guys the carb that I got from Tom. Absolutely amazing!!! I have to say other than the valvetrain..............it is the single most impressive thing I got from him. I have a bunch of pictures but it will have to wait for another time to start uploading. :D

It is in the car, and I am working on making some more changes.............What they are is just for me....;)

Oh im not doubting what anyone found, i believe it because i hear the same thing out of every car person that can work on a carb. Clean that carb out thoroughly before use, is the first thing out of their mouths.

Spring is around the corner though!!! Let the fun begin!!

They still need to try and sell the remaining assets. The banks will keep it up until most of the products are liquidated/sold then the rest goes to auction.

Had a Demon CG-RS for a while now and just started to use it this March. after I found out this news, I bought sleeves/parts that I thought would dry up availability-wise. Great concept, I like all the adjustability , and the carb I had wasn't contaminated with aluminum chips...

Like the results with it so far....

From what I understand Holly bought some of the assets in the bankruptcy auction. The name and product line will be going back to market, but Barry himself will not be involved.

Cool! Thanks for the heads up!!
If holley bought it, they will probobly make the carbs better.

I bought a pair of new boost-referenced BG carbs for my blower build and ending up sending them back afer I had a pile of aluminum chips fall out of the metering blocks when I pulled them apart. Hard to believe that someones manufacturing quality control could be that bad.

I ended up going with a set of boost-referenced 4150 HP Holley carbs that worked perfectly right out of the box. And they had no spare material bouncing around inside the float bowls or metering blocks.

It's not a wonder that BG is out of business.

I'm sure those chips were in there by design,....better atomization of the fuel I'd say, probably patented, proprietary design. ;)

We called them the 50 50 carb, half work, half didn't.

I hope the new owners do a better job

So Bill Goldberg, known as "Goldberg" (retired from the WWE/WWF (WCW?) and a short stint in the NFL bought 'Demon Carburetion"?

Well...I hope he fixes what the company lacked. Their customer service was TERRIBLE. I had an issue with the first carb i bought from them and they accused me of modifying it. I laughed at the rep that i was talking to. If they fix the shrapnel and tuning issues they could be a good company.
