I'm thinking about putting comp cams shaft mounted roller rockers on my new pro 1 platinum 215 heads. Will they go right on or will there be any machining, drilling tapping or shimming? I've never run shaft rockers before. How much better are they from a 7/16 stud roller rocker with stud gurdle? Are they stronger, lighter? Also I'm not set on comp's stuff if there a better brand, any part numbers? How do they do with alingnment? No guide plates needed?

Most Comp shaft rockers are manufactued by T&D, not to bad for quality and service. Comp Cams makes some stuff but they are smart enough and have the cash to have it produced for them and then resells it! I use T&D and Jesel all the time and you will have issue's but nothing you can't handle. The will make well over 5 more hp and the valve train will be so much more stable.

Thanks Bill, what kind of issues will I get into with installation? Do they clear head studs ok?
Also I dont have a cam yet so what is a good rocker ratio 1.5/1,5 or 1.6/1.5? I'm flexable. I'm leaning towards the Jesel.

I like the t&d a lil better then the jessel because of the forced oiling on the bearings and roller tip.

Jesel bolts right on, but you may have to trim your head studs below the plate, you have to do this with all head studs in they get over the plate surface. No big deal. T&D with the spring oiler is pretty good stuff, I have always used them. I would offset the Intake at the very least .300 and exhaust should be good. This will give you some working room for 3/8 .035 wall push rods. 270/280 @ .50 to 274/284 largest I would go with. .700 -.750 lift with something on a 110-114 lobe separation.
