Is Dart going to make an LT1 head larger than the 180's that are out now? I would sure like a set of 230s for my 408 LT1. What kind of flow numbers are the 180s capable of and what kind of potential do they have? anyone know?

Unfortunately at this time is hasn’t been discussed to produce something larger. The 180 cc Lt-1 / Lt-4 head is a pretty efficient little head.

Here are the Wet flow numbers:

.200 134 / 114

.300 187 / 145

.400 231 / 164

.500 257 / 172

.600 261 / 174

Can you tell me if those heads require the use of the LT4 intake or if I am ok with the stock LT1 intake?

Those heads will work with both the LT1 & LT4 intakes. They are tall enough for the LT4 and have both intake gasket "tab" holes for either gasket to be used.

you put a 4" crank into it.

thanx i bet it turns out pretty good. i have a 502 marine engine in my nova and was wondering will that block make a 572? want to keep it on pump gas so it should be ok dont you think? if it wont go to a 572 how big will it go?

Yeah, the 4.5 bore with a 4.5" crank goes right into it and they make shelf pistons for the 6.385" rod. The rod ratio is still good @ a 1.418888888 and we have done very well with the. I have used some GM blocks that I did not have to touch with a steel rod. Works for me. But for the answer, a 4.5" crank will go into your block to make the 572! Fact
