Update: Ok, thanks to our allies over at PowerTV we have implimented a new security system to help stop all the recent spam attacks. Henceforth members with fewer than 10 posts will be unable to post links or pictures, this should really help to keep the problem to a minimum.
New users are once again able to sign up and the forum is fully functional again!

There were several spam posts in the forums over the weekend. Users who made the posts have been banned and posts have been deleted.
For those who don't already know, don't click links in suspicious looking posts or private messages, just ignore/delete them.

Please, if any of you have recieved spam PMs or even spam e-mails (for those of you who have allowed e-mail contact over the forum) from this forum, let me know what the content was approximately and what the user name is and it will be dealt with.

Thanks! - DV

Yeah, we got hit with a wave of bots today. I've banned all of them so far. I'll give it a day or two and if they keep coming in at this rate I'll probably impliment an e-mail confirmation registry system for new users.

That's an inconvenience and I don't want to have to do that, but if the spam keeps up I will.

In the meantime please report spammy PMs to me and I'll keep things cleaned up around here as quickly as I find em!

Ok, I've gotten fed up with all the spamming going on.
New users will henceforth be required to confirm their e-mail address before making posts. This should keep all the spamming out of the forums.

Unfortunately, it appears we have some more advanced spamming software moving in on the boards. The e-mail verification may not be able to completely stop it either.

I will clean up as best as I can before I leave today, and I am going to shut down all new user account sign ups until I get this resolved tomorrow. I hate to do this, but I don't want a million spam posts popping up while I'm gone this evening.
You will still be able to post, but no new users will be able to sign up until I address this tomorrow!

Tomorrow I will attack this issue more aggressively and try to get this spam problem shut down ASAP. In the meantime, I'm sorry for the inconvenience to all members...

Update: See first post!
