Yes, it is true. Our Dart Headed 540 3300# Street Car mowed threw every competitor with ease Sunday @ the Shakedown. Due to the Awesome Power and killer lights from qualifying right to the last round, .009 best to .028 worst even in our only qualifying pass, I put Big Red in the Winner Circle @ the Greatest Race Event in History ever. 5 rounds of overhauling all the top drivers and their equipment, put us in the final where our killer lights must of assisted in the final round red light of my competitor. I still ran it out the backdoor with tires that were done @ 8.59 / 161+ mph. and my light was .081. Worst I can remember. 60 foot feel off as well as the tires were done. Must have been why the light was a little late.
I think every record fell from one end to the other of all the classes.
Jim Halsey legal weight Nitrous Pro Mod run 5 / 5.90's passes to put Ricky Smith away in the final. All of the Al-Anabi nitrous R/M Shannon Jenkins and even Ricky Smith cars had nothing for the Fulton Powered Halsey 68 Camaro, all the cars could not get it done as pretty much shows who is making the real NOS Power! The Gene Fulton Powered NOS engine was out standing show of real performance power and the class act of the Halsey Team.
Scotty Cannon runs a Record 5.72 @ 2.52 as well as a bunch of others running 5.8 over 240 but these cars were very light and run what cha brung. Who knows what power plant was in there and what weight.
Tim Ohara running a convertor @ legal weight of 2750 lbs 20% OD shatters the E.T. record with 6.02 @ 235+ and then backs it up with a terribly tricky late night pass on a wet track with a 6.01 pass and had to shift early @ 8500 in second to slow the tire down and still run that good to reset the record. Bernie killed more than 150 hp and the car was still that fast. We could not of even imagined what the car would of run if the track would of stood it. Almost every car in the last pass could not master the track but Tim's crew had a handle on it. That would of been an 5.95 to 5.99 pass if he could of just had a perfect run. In eliminations, Tim's 60 foot showed the car would of run 5.98/5.99 but had a little electrical problem that released the car too soon and he did not realize it until he was out there. The team has gotten a handle on the chassis with a little help from Awesome Bill, and you will see @ the Rock how if plays out. Tim's car was always spot less and a thing of sheer beauty and power. Tim's whole team is first class and shows it every time out.
Tim Lynch pulls out a amazing 6.55 in 10.5 after he got all the issues ironed out.
Wolf lays down a 7.12 in the Radial class as well as a ton of record setting runs in every class
