Need help with deciding on a oil pan for SBC Little M. I have a SBC 415 ci little M, w/3.875" crank. What would be a good stroker pan for this with a windage tray set-up.

Awesome Bill, you can chime in on this one, I know you'll have an opinion on it.

Should I get a pan with the windage tray & scraper like several I found. It will be for a 1969 Chevy Nova. Moroso has several:

Moroso #20195, 20191 & 20196

Also Hamberger has a couple I like, part number #1088, & 3047

Or just go with a Stroker pan, then buy a Windage tray kit and mount to the main caps.

Not looking to break the bank on a oil pan either.

Thanks

windage trays that capture the oil and deflect them back into the pan are a must, screens are a no no, they hold the oil as water over the top of a cup will keep it from spilling over because it clings. Not much but its there. I also like a kick out with any stroke. Full length is best. Iron Eagle blocks actually make more power with the starter on the left side and a full length kick out. Also, Moroso makes the BBC pans like the 21047 or 20385 with oil sectional control we have dyno proven makes power sitting still. It has to make power while excelling is factored in because oil pressure does not fluctuate even in de excelling type of pans and Moroso's stuff is the bomb. Standard street pans with windage trays and screens are as with any ones, good enough. Drag racing, the pans I have described are the best. Moroso has them for the SBC. I can help with the product line as I am a W.D. Dry sump when you can!

Almost to technical for me Bill. What I think you're saying is, use a Pan with a screen/scraper built in & Kicked out. This motor will be Drag Race, but I don't think I can use a full length type race pan. I'll need the type that had the deep sump in the rear.

So looks like one of the pans I mentioned above will be pan of choice.

Most of Moroso's Pans for this will work fine. Take a look @ the Pro Eliminator style
