I have a new gmpp crate motor, all iron 350/290.
76cc heads supposed to = 8.5 to 1
Cam is hyd flat tappet 450 i 460 e 222degrees i and e
I aslo have a set of Dart pro 1s, 200mm ports 2.05 intake valves, 64cc chambers.
The car is fairly light (2350lbs) and is a street car that sometimes gets
used for auto x and track days. May never see a drag strip.

I have a performer manifold, 600 edelbrock and headers I would not mind
swapping over.

What would happen on a light toy street car if I bolted these heads on?
I figure I have a 5500(ish) rpm cam and manifold with 6k heads(?)

So, should I just not bother or is it workable to get a 350hp usable nearly
6k rpm sports car motor that will still carburate reasonably we around town?

thanks,

patrick

You did not state what size combustion chamber you have on the Dart Pro One 200cc. They come in either 64 or 72 cc size. Also the intake valve is more likely to be of 2.02 size unless a special order.

You will need to upgrade the cam. The Lunitai Voodoo series is quite good for a flat tappet. Also Comp cams has come out with a new XFI series flat tappet cam.

With the 64cc Dart heads, a good cam, exhaust and intake you should easily reach your goals of 350hp.

The heads were ordered for a 383 that never got built, with 2.05s, (I just can't type)
or at least they are supposed to be. They've been sitting on a shelf for a few years.
The valve size worries me at least as much as the port size.

Actually a larger headed SBC will work o.k with that little cam you have along with the smaller intake. You should easily make your HP goals with that combination. The carb is actually way to big and you won't make any power past 5200 to even speak of with the hyd camshaft with really good light parts. Your greast ali is the very lighweight auto you have. Don't go crazy with any porting of anything and you'll be fine. Anything larger on the camshaft, and you start to raise the rpm past 5500 prm and the engines valve train goes all to crap. If you run the engine on a real dyno, you will see what I am talking about.
