I recently suffered a crank failure that resulted in the damage to the #5 cylinder wall, the #1 main saddle and #1 main cap of my 8.2 deck Iron Eagle block.

I believe the #1 saddle is damaged beyond repair by line hone. When the crank broke it pushed the #1 main bearing out of the front of the engine resulting in the piece of broken crank rotating in the saddle without a bearing.

Is there any way to repair the damaged main saddle?

If so, is this a repair Dart could perform?

we have repaired them in the past, I highly recommend that you e-mail some good pics of the damage to me. I'll have one of our tech guys evaluate them if you like, and let you know if we can help.

Please use the site contact email at the top of the page.

They can be repaired, it is pricey. They bore the hole oversize, then install a spacer, pin it and rebore back to where it needs to be. You can even put a splayed cap on the Front in cases of real bad hurt!
