I think Dart should offer options such as the following,,,,,

1) A valve upgrade to Ferrea Comp Plus for an additional charge of $X.XX

2) Spring Upgrade to Manley NexTek springs and Titanium retainers for an additional charge of $X.XX
(Note, Dart could use the Erson/PBM FSP Valve Springs as they are the same as the Manley NexTek springs)

3) Milling options on the heads for $X.XX charge

Please vote and if you have any thoughts please post them, Good or Bad,,,,

The things you are requesting in regards to valves and springs are already used. the valves we spend countless hours developing when we develop the head port, valve job, and chamber are made by the same forging plant that makes brand F, R, M, and D. We spec the material and the angles the valve is machined to. We use the same quality whether it is a $800.00 set of iron heads, or a $5000.00 set of ported Big Chiefs using triple springs.

Springs are the same thing, for High end springs we use PSI, which is made here in Michigan. PAC is one of the competitors also here is Michigan, they supply almost EVERY high end spring in the market. They supply just about every company out there including Dart. We use them, test them on the Spin tron, and offer them as standard equipment on alot of our heads.

When we use the larger springs, titanium retainers are standard.

Milling has always been offered at an upcharge.

It would be staggering to everyone to know how little is actually made by alot of the companies out there, and how much is reboxed. As a large company ourselves, we have been able to purchase products from direct sources and have them built to our specs when needed.

With Dart we pride ourselves on the finished product and only use good parts in all of our heads. 10° locks are standard in everything but a single 1.250 spring, viton steel clam shell style seals are standard, PSI springs in all high end assemblies using large cams, Trick Titanium retainers (look up Trick online they make tons of special items used in NHRA/IHRA nitro classes), ARP rocker studs, Dart custom adjustable guide plates(big block), and Custom Designed built for Dart valves.

Hope this information helps you out.

I didnt say anything about the quality as is just that some prefer a given brand valve all the time such as Manley, Ferrea etc regardless of what it comes with

Dart's castings have NEVER gave us a problem, they are actually durable (heavy too). For example, Dart says not to cut any deeper on the spring pockets, We cut a junk head 1/8" deeper and went to 1.630" = No Water and took a punch hamering the casting (in the corners of the 1/8 deeper 1.63" pocket) trying to break it thinking it was a thin spot (wouldnt break) - Thats why the Iron heads are soooooo heavy (all that meat there which is good)

In all the years i have used Dart i NEVER knew Dart offered milling options and always had the heads milled at the machie shop (i never knew Dart offered it)

Samething for springs, I didnt know Dart offered other springs other than the 2 or 3 basic 1.55" springs in the small block 23° heads.

What about CNC chamber options on the Pro 1 and the Iron Eagles,, We have had people ask about CNC chambers on Dart heads (Iron Eagle and Pro 1)
