Need some pro help and advise

I have a chevy 383 with some older iron eagles, say older than 5 years. I have a comp cams XE274 cam (274-286) duration and (490-490) lift. I also have 1.6 ratio rockers. I was told max lift for these heads was .500.

I am looking for more duration and lift, can anyone steer me in the right direction.
I was looking at a new thumper cam at (295-313) duration and (.5- 486) Lift. should it work with my 1.6 rockers?

Thanks guys.

Without knowing the part number or spring diameter it would be hard to answer that...........that being said you will need different springs for a cam like that anyway, get a new cam and springs together and have fun :D

If the spring will take the lift and be within the open pressure, then it will be fine. Your only adding .030" max to the equasion!
