Have a Dart Iron Eagle Iron Block (tall deck) that has 215 - 49cc Iron Eagle Cylinder Heads with SRP flat top pistons. This item will be in a dirt late model and we are concerned that maybe we should change to a dome piston with 230 - 64cc heads.

Anyone with a opinion on this? Upside or downside.

Thanks

O.K. maybe I mis-judged who was visiting this site. So, can anyone refer me to a site that would have flow numbers for the 49cc Dart heads?

You will loose about 2 compression ratio's while adding a much larger cc runner. You will loose power. Now if you use a dommed piston, this will pick it back up but add weight to the rotator making you have a much heavier rotating weight. This kills power and then the flame travel is way worst with a dome piston. So NO I would not do this.

Thank you very much for the reply. If you have had any experience building or working on a motor using the Dart Iron Eagle tall deck, I would like very much to bounce some questions I have off of you. Dart tech line have been little to no help in with my questions. This is my first go around with a Dart Iron Eagle SBC with the tall deck.

You are better off to contact a reputable engine builder on the phone. All the answers I had ever gotten, as far as parts, cams or what not, seemed to end up with no answers and "hey, send me your engine and pay me to do it. I wont tell you what parts or sell you the parts you need."
