I finished building a new combo in late summer and was only able to get it to the track twice. I'm starting to make plans for next year and I could use a little advice.

First, the combo:
1985 Mustang (heavier than stock), 402 stroker, 10.2:1 compression, DART 195CC heads, solid roller cam, 241/241, 0.609" lift, LT headers, 3" exhaust, C4, 3000 stall, 4.10 gears, 26x10 slicks.

I tried a couple carbs (650dp and 750dp) and got a best of 12.15 at 114mph w/1.74 60-ft. The car does not have a transbrake and seemed to have a soft launch. It seems like the car should have more in it, but I didn't get much time to play with the tune.

I'm thinking a higher stall convert, possibly a transbrake, and finally a bigger carb. Any advice or comments?

BTW, I would like to thank the guys at DART for a superior product. This was the second set of heads that I purchased from them and I couldn't be happier with the quality!

where do you race at? I would think you should be running a lot stronger than that. Unless you are in Colorado. Is the cam you have designes for a engine that only has 10.2 to 1 compression?

I've ran at Lapeer and Milan (SE Michigan tracks).

The cam was designed for this combo.

your carb the 750 is not too big. Your launch is soft and a better converter would give you a lot more. You have MPH to proves the car will run 11.50's. Your engine is running fine, the first 60 is the most critical time to make it run a good pass. Even pro stocks, if their 60 sucks, they don't qualify
