Looks like when my old 383 chevy blow-up last year, the #1 piston tagged the valves. Both intake & exhaust valve have a slight bend to them. It does not appear that the head seats are damaged or the valve seats. The piston is fine too. I have two new valves coming from Dart. They are Pro 1 215cc aluminum heads.

So, can I just put them in without doing anything, I heard that the valves will make their own seat seal due to the 750 lift .550 springs. Could or should I lap them in or do I need to have the heads re-ground for those two. Please don't tell me it's the last, I'm running out of money with this thing.... LOL.

If my wife ever finds out how much my motor rebuild is costing.... She'll kill me.

Thanks

Awesome Bill

if the piston drove the valve into the seat on a warm engine, the seats will need to be remachined and checked for seal, no doubt about it!

Just Great, not what I wanted to hear Bill. So if I take the head to the machine shop, do I give them a copy of the Spec's on the heads. The spec'd give Valve Seat Angles of:

Int = 32*-45*-60*-70*
Exh= 37*-45*-radius

They'll know what to do ???
