G'day
Just after some information on the best way to go about an engine build up.
I'm planning on building a 427 using a Dart Iron Eagle block. I will be running it on straight LPG, She will be a regularly driven streeter with the odd trip down the strip. I want to build something very strong as down the track she will see a lot more time down the strip with only the occasional street run. The car is about 2900lbs and will be running a TH350 transmission. I want to build something with a bucket load of torque, a minimum of 500-600 Hp. The only thing I will definately be using is an Iron Eagle block with raised deck height, I need to know who makes the best gear to put in her. I know places Like Eagle and Scat make good quality rotating assemblies but are there any that are superior to them without spending rediculouse money? (is someone like Lunati better, are there any companies that realy stand out from the rest?)
I want a compression ratio of about 12:1, Is this bossible using dish top pistons, or would flat top be the way to go?
Noting I'll be running her on LPG can you reccommend a cam(brand and specs), I know whatever I go with needs a longer duration on the exhaust side, but that's al I know, I would like something relatively lumpy. Again noting LPG What sort of head will be beast, I believe something high flowing with a large combustion chamber is the go?
As far as getting the 427ci capacity what is the best way to achieve this, ie 4.125" bore 4" stroke?
Thanks for any help
Cheers
