I run across a 350 block, 88 model year set up for OE hyd roller cam. however i read in a magazine that with the original setup, including lifters that cam lift must be kept below .530 with a 1.5 rocker ratio. If not lifter may fall to far into the lifter bore and all you know what breaks loose. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, is there a way around this to get more lift? I was looking for .550 lift atleast for a 383. thanks

ok, i looked them up in a few suppliers, and those cost more than the retrofit hyd roller lifters for pre-86 blocks. I don't see the advantage of using the 86 and later block that is ready for the roller set up if lift is limited. plus, from what i've been told, the older blocks(010) casting have are stronger with more nickel content. i don't know, just does'nt make sense to me. unless you are building a grocery getter i guess.

You can get more lift with those than that and never worry about the lifter coming down to far. Use it.
