Does anyone know how much juice is a pound and how much i would go threw spending a day @ the track w/200 shot.... making 10 runs or so ....what is the maintenance on the silinoids???? if i'm gone for a while and the car sets for a long time won't i have to rebuild the silinoids...or do they need rebuild once a year any way??? also thinking about running a blower maybe but want to be able to take it to pump gas drags and maybe power tour if i get a chance...and i'm planning on takeing it to pinks all out... i know it's alot but if someone wants to wade in on any of this , let me hear what you have to say its a SBC now with pro 1 heads.... should i look to just put in a big block and call it a day....i want to have at least 500+hp at the wheels with a flat power curve....its a 68 nova w/4 spd and 4.10 gears

5.50 per lb right now and you will get 2 maybe 3 good passes on a hot bottle. You will burn some stuff up for sure because lack of knowing. If you stay with a real small shot, under 150hp you can pretty much get away with a ton. I have the same solenoides I have had for 4 years and run them with alky and fuel. Low voltage is always what kills the solenoides and improper wiring!

thanks bill, what size bottle was it that you were refering to get 2 or 3 good passes and how many bottles do you take to an event. i plan on haveing the system set up by some else to prevent " burning stuff up" till i can get a better understanding of the does and don't. useing an electronic controler and WOT activation switch ect.

thanks bill

I have 10-10 lb bottles, 5-15 lb bottles and take a 64 lb cylinder and have my own pumping station. Can never have to much NOS. I pull a bottle out every pass no matter what and change with a new one. Even one lb less in a bottle, you change your tune up and consistency. I lost a race because my bottle heater did not get the bottle up to my pressure I run and the car will not run the same with less bottle pressure once you have a tune up! I guess thats why I can run 8.50's on every pass if I want to.

Bill, what kind of maintenance do most of the silinoids require, i see that you like to double tapp any problems that may come up and cut murphy of befor he can pop his head out. do you on a regular basis pull the silinoids out for a check up. i know that i won't be running them as much as you have been but i wonder what is the consitancey of the system if i only use it once a month or let it set for 6-10 months at a time..

thanks bill

there is no service ona solenoide. It is closed in a natural positon. You do have to clean the filters and thats all I do. It fails, I change it, thats it. I always keep a spare and a rebuild kit. If if fails its off and I change it. I repair when I get home. HTHelps
