I had a cam guy tell me that the lifter bores on the SBC Little M blocks are .030 taller than a standard block so I need to buy roller lifters that are .030 taller.

I don't know if he is trying to push parts I don't need or not.

I can't find anywhere that confirms this. I have a set of standard size crane roller lifters and wonder if I can use them or not.

Thanks.

This depends on the Cam you will be using, so please post that so we can be sure.

Yes, the Little M is .300 taller than a standard block, but you can use standard roller lifters with a Little M block. Taller lifters are not a must have.

Again, this will be affected by your cam choice.

I am looking at a small base circle solid roller. Probably a comp cams but I am open to anthing especially if it prevents me from having to buy new lifters at this point.

I am building a 434 with a 4" stroke.

Thanks.

With a small base circle cam you will need new lifters, yes.
