Which way should I turn the gap of the plug when indexing plugs?

just because your a new guy, I will not say anything. think about what your doing with the ground strap of the plug, would you want it pointed down so the piston could hit it? Or would you want it pointed upward so the gap is pointing downward and has more clearence for the piston not to hit it. In any case which position would you place the ground strap to be furthest from the piston. If you have thought about this while reading you must of come up with the gap should be down and the strap should be up. When you actually think about things, you will most of the time get it. Hope this helps or hth!

Some also like to point a little towards the exhaust valve.

yeah you could do that also, but that usually happens when you can't get a washer to work and it winds up there and you say something like that to make someone else think you planned it. lolololo
