How much smaller engine went the 8.90. Was that 8.90 in the 1/8th also? What type car are we talking about? Why the 3.90 gear?

last motor was iron headed 461 in a 48 fiat funnycar chassis 125" solid rear powerglide 4.56 gear best et was 8.54 good air. same car now updated chassis and 3.90 gear been a while since we raced. guess never lose the need for speed just wonder if these heads can make much over 1000 hp on alcohol

Not even going to get close with that combination. If @ best, your going to make 1050 hp. More than likely, 1000 REAL HP. You will need a little over 1200+ hp to run the 4.40 range and that means big chief heads only with some killer work. You can not run that fast with any conventional headed big block chevy. My Very Best Head Hunter Tunnel Ram 638 BBC only makes 1100 hp. Hope this helps. Our best time to date with a real dragster on a real track racing on a real day is 4.54 in the 1/8. There is maybe a little room for .003-.005 quicker but that is it.

4.60 to 4.70 with proper gear and converter should not be a problem at all. A small shot of juice will put you way over the top. Nitrous is very consistent so don't worry about using a 100-150 shot. It actually makes the engine more consistent is what I have found. That is ofcourse if you use the exact bottle and fuel pressure every time.
