I am planning on building a 434 using a dart iron eagle block and dart Pro1 230 heads. I am planning on going solid lifter, and roller rockers, and 4/7 swap. do I need offset lifters. what rocker arms?

It is not required to use offset rocker arms or offset lifters. It would be a good idea to use a rocker arm that is clearanced for larger springs. Crane Golds, Harland Sharp, are available with additional spring clearancing.

We always seem to run into some sort of clearance issue with what ever we do here. Most times it is very minimal. The camshaft has no bearing on what lifter to use. The cylinder head to lifter bore angle determines that. We have found that with the larger port cylinder heads, a 180 offset lifter in some positions saves a lot of time. We also use a good quality rocker shaft system that has some offset to help that push rod clearance. You will most likely need offset stuff with the 3/8 push rods for sure. The 5/16 stuff is at best just getting buy with todays newer killer camshaft, springs, and open pressures. With the 3/8 stuff, we always use offset lifters with a good Jesel or T&D Rocker shaft system.
