What do you guys think of this cam for a 383, 10.5 compression, dart pro 1 plat 200 heads, eagle rotator, rpm air gap intake, 3000 stall, th350 trans, 3300lb car. Going to be used for stree/strip.
Lunati solid roller 243/249 dur. .050 .578/.585 lift w/1.5 rocker 110 lsa/ 106 icl advertised dur 273/279 rpm ranges listed at 2600-7000 Curious if this cam is a good choice or should i change anything with it. Thanks brad |

Not sure what gear you are going to run, but that cam will run out of steam well before 7000. My guess is it is going to have it tongue hanging out at 6500.

sorry forgot, gear is 4.10, 26" tire. Current 350 crosses traps at 6000, but iknow this is going to be different motor combo. Wanted to keep engine around 6500 rpm shift point.

I am thinking you'll be running out of steam early with that gear, and the tire.

This build going to see any street at all? If so you may consider a 112°-114° lobe sepperation.
While you're wanting to keep the shift point to around 6500 what trap rpm are you expecting? I think you may be ok with this cam if you're wanting to limit to 6500 RPMs. Don

yes it will see street time, strip time about 3 times a year for fun. But it doesnt need perfect street manors, it only gets driven on weekend and not for that long of trips, just around local cruises and such. This is the other cam I am considering, and i do want to keep engine around 6500 rpm shift and trap speed, give or take alittle.
Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 279/285 Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 249/255 Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .585/.600 LSA/ICL: 110/106 Valve Lash (Int/Exh): 016/016 RPM Range: 2800-7200 This is a lunati cam as well. Thanks for input. brad |
