Default Compacted Graphite Little M Block ???

Hi, I'm new to Dart's website. I'm considering Darts availible compacted graphite iron Little M block for my 1997 Trans Am WS6. To get the dome volume that I want I need to go to a 4.185" bore size, but want to keep as much strength as I can. I will be running the car on a methanol EFI system with a nitromethane injection kit while at the track. I would also like to run a 55mm cam core if there is enough room in the cam tunnel for the roller cam bearings. Thanks in advance for all of your responces!!

Shane

Our CGI block will add around 30% more strength than our traditional casting.

As for cam tunnel we suggest a max of 50mm.

To do a 55 you have to bush the lifter bores which gets expensive.

Thanks for the info Kevin! I was planning on having the lifter bores modified for a .903" lifter diameter, sorry I forgot to post this info. Is this the same work that you were describing?

No,

We have a few options for optional lifter bores. We can enlarge them without a bushing, or insert a standard bushing, or a keyed bushing.

When running a 55 mm cam tunnel you run a very probable risk of exposing enough of the lifter out of the bottom of the bore to cause an internal oil leak.

To remedy this we install a bushing that hangs down enough to remedy the situation. Typically this is a $700+ option depending on the block.

Last time we did one we ran into a water jacket.... So we do NOT bore to 55mm.

If you want that large of a cam you should go to our Iron Eagle block.
