Well, for sure you going to need and 8" with somewhere around 5500/5900 rpm stall speed. Your little engine will only make about 650/700 best hp and will only require a blue holley pump or black if you wanted to get crazy. 50 gallons per hour of fuel will support 700 hp with a bshp rating of .5 with is rich, so don't get pulled into the 400 gph pumps, a 100 gph pump will support well of 1000 hp when properly plumbed. So a #12 from the tank to the pump, #10 from pump to regulator with 12" from the carb, then #6 to the carb. Run the fuel pressure between 8-9 and you can even put a 300 shot of NOS on it. I would not but you could. You should easily run 9.50"s will not problem if your under 3000 lbs. So keep the rpm down under 7000, because the engine will not make any more power over 7000 with that combination, and you will have fun. Converter is critical, don't buy junk, I can help with that so give me a call if your going to purchase a converter. hths.

Default thanks Bill

thanks Bill,as far as the fuel pump, the place i got the motor told me to get the bg 400 and the guy that built my carb told me to get the aeromotive 2000,but they both said at least a 5500 stall, now as far as the nos im scared to spray 100.i told them to gap the rings so i could spray it if i wanted to down the road, but they gaped the top ring .019 and the second at .015 that is what the build sheet says.if it will run 9.50s the hell with nos.my old motor ran 10.30s with 150 shot thanks for telling me i have alittle motor ha ha,have a good one,and thanks again

Everyone wants to sell you a fuel pump that will triple the fuel you need. I find it very unnecessay if the system is plumbed right. People pay big attention to the pump and no that little needle and seat that all that fuel has to go threw. Buy the way, It is near impossible to make 1200 hp with 2 needle and seats, they won't flow enough. We do use a special one with our larger big chief 1200 single 4 barrel motors and it barely is border line safe. If you make 1000 hp, the most fuel you would ever need is 500 lbs per hour. Times that by 2 then times that will yield you a .50 bsfc and thats all the fuel you will need. We have run those huge pumps for years for nothing. Now alky is a little different.

But anyway, Don Payne From Washington State, runs one of our 434 NOS engines in his killer Chevy Luv. We set the engine up @ 11/1 compression or so, and gave him 2 stages of NOS. He runs the truck the first week out, it weights around 3000 lbs if I remember correctly and goes 9.60. @ 140 or so. He calls me along with 3 other people wanting engines and says he don't even need the NOS, he's faster than everything he has to race. Now this was not a engine with a ton of compression and it only made 685 hp from what I can remember. So A luv is not the most aerodynamic truck out there. So your S10 should fall right in there.

If you want to really run well, get a really good Carb and there is really only one to purchase, all others are copy cats and mostly use Holley as a base and shine them up to look good.

We are dyno testing and using the DAMBEST carbs I have ever seen. That is not a joke, that is there name. For years, JOHN has developed these and I have been working with Skip Gladstone on our dyno on every engine we build seems like and these things are totally redesigned and will outperform any conventional carb on the planet!

We just installed another unit, Brand new design, on a 632 RHS headed 370 cc cnc ported head with a Profiler Sniper we ported with a convenional 0-7320-1 1150. We made 977 and 802 torque. Not bad. We bolted his newest 2-1/8" unit with a really special skirted booster that no one has ever seen and the first pull was 1028 hp and 832 torqueand the bsfc went to .40 from .44. I know this sounds crazy but you won't go wrong with these units. I have talked to about 4 people in my lifetime that understand Carbs, 1 Dick Phillips, 2 Sonny Lenord, 3 John Satterfield, he is really sharpe, and Me. I have lived carbs since I was 8 years old rebuilding outboards.

But Johns stuff when he prepairs it for the hp you need, it the DAMBEST thing I have ever seen. Go to his website and check them out. I can help you if you would like. We guarantee the carb to outperform anything you have. So have fun and check it out, I think his website will cover what I have said.

Large amounts of NOS, over 300hp, we use .008 per inch of bore, small amounts of NOS under 250 we use .006 per inch of bore

yeah you can, but just use very good fuel and make sure no detonation accurs. 200 shot, your starting to get real scary with ring end gap butt.
