Hello! I'm back to talk more stuff! Lol. I actually thought I was gonna do a particular engine build for my project car soon but I have changed my mind a little. I think I am gonna concentrate on a slightly massaged Ford/MEL FE 410 Marauder as I have some parts in my uncle's garage leaning that way. I think I will keep the steel block and get aluminum heads and then a high-rise 4v intake (hole in the hood/scoop!)......we're gonna put it all into a '67 Cougar, I think. Just thought I'd let ya know. Thanks for having me in this forum. I really love sano muscle cars. I should have this puppy together within 5 years....knock-on-wood....lol!
Thanks, ~Chris~ |

I'm new here to this board. A few short quick bits about me . .
I own and operate a specialty car shop in NH and as a hobby play with my Donzi power boat . . but no where near close to what Dave's 32' Sunsation is. We do both share the challenges of $$$ / mph . . and getting to big numbers on the water with a deep vee is exponential dollars ![]() I found my way to the Dart site on a web search trying to solve a technical problem with my present engine configuration . . . My Donzi is a 1969 Corsican, only 18' long, but a limited production design, only 56 boats ever built. It is the same hull as the Classic 18. Mine was originally a Holman Moody 302 with a Volvo drive. When these were worn out I replaced everything with a newer 302 and changed to Bravo drive. This engine in it's present configuration makes 345 HP and 333 ft lbs torque from 2500 rpm to 5800 rpm on 89 octane fuel. Note that a SBF was never used with a Bravo, and all this so I could retain a left hand rotation drive. LH Alpha's exist, but are hard to find and can't take alot of abuse caused by the boat exiting the water at speed! ![]() My technical challenge . . . I am changing to aluminum heads . . . and presently only trailer the boat . . but will run it in salt water. Now before I get everybody all PO'd at me my heads are AFR . . sorry . . the selection was done by my machine shop. Right now I have fresh water cooling . .and have considered changing to closed loop cooling . . BUT this adds big weight in a small boat, and with the Bravo drive, a requirement for 2 water pumps . . . one to pump cooling water through the engine system and another to pump sea water through the heat exchangers . . which weigh a lot!! Read this as complex in a small engine compartent with small hatches . . Ideally I'l like to avoid the closed loop cooling with antifreeze and corrosion protection, but run the engine and aluminum heads fresh water / sea water cooled. Do the technical gurus of Dart Coatings have a solution to protect the water passages of my cylinderheads from corrosion while not effecting heat transfer ? Right now the heads are un-used, only with the mods required by my use. Looking forward to learning something! Thank you, |

Hello Mario,
We'll forgive you for using non-Dart heads... this time! In all seriousness, you will likely want to copy this post into a new thread in the engine questions area of the forum. Most of the people who answer questions on the board don't think to look in the intro section here. Try a post in questions and you should get some answers that help. Welcome to the forums! |

Hi Guys,
I just noticed that DART changed their forums, so here I am. I hope to poke around in here and maybe learn something over the long cold Michigan winter! I've owned my '85 Mustang for a little over 3 years, and I am on my 5th combo. Three of the combos have had DART heads (170 and 195), including the current 351 stroker combo. I was only able to run the car twice this year (+ some street miles), but I hope to get the car into the 11s next summer and maybe go a few rounds. Who knows, maybe I'll hook a hose to it and shoot for 10s? |
