Built For Boost: Real Street Performance 2,000hp 2JZ Iron Eagle Build
Not all superheros wear capes, and not all rocket scientists work for NASA. Maybe the guys over at Real Street Performance aren’t exactly rocket scientists by trade, but they certainly know how to build some serious, high-performance engines, specifically those based on the revered Toyota 2JZ platform. Naturally, the Real Street crew was one of our first calls when searching for a shop to do some real world testing with one of our pre-production blocks. A Next Gen Precision Turbocharger, custom forged pistons from Diamond Racing Pistons, a billet lightweight crankshaft and forged HD H-beam connecting rods from Brian Crower, together combining to make a combination putting out 70psi of boost. Can our Iron Eagle 2JZ block really handle all of that? Check out the videos below to see!
Big Time Boost
This is not your standard 3.2L or 3.4L 2JZ combination. Instead, the Real Street Performance crew decided on a 88mm bore, 96mm stroke, to make a 3.5L 2JZ build. The crew took this dyno test to the Precision Turbo speed limit and made over 1,800hp and 1,200ft-lbs of torque while using a factory style head gasket and factory oiling systems.
Not Your Average 2JZ Block
The Real Street Performance crew goes over the differences in our Iron Eagle 2JZ block vs the OEM 2JZ casted block, where some of the main advantages come from, and how that could help your race program. They also completely assemble their 3.5L stroker 2JZ engine. Cue the montage.
First Look Into the Future
The very first pre-production Iron Eagle 2JZ block found its way to the Real Street studio before heading to the machine shop. Big plans to make even bigger horsepower all while pushing our new block to the max. Check out this exclusive first look!
